It's iris season. We don't have any in our yard, but I really enjoy seeing them. When I was a teenager, we lived in a house formerly owned by a man who bred iris as a hobby. We had lots of interesting colors.

Some plant varieties and some animal varieties are clearly the product of selective breeding by humans. Does that mean we're as great as God, or interfering with God's work? No. It just means we're developing and tending what he has given us. Even Jacob in the Bible did that...though just how is something I don't understand.

Today, enjoy what God's put all around you, and take good care of what he's put into your hands.
