Bridge - Christian Poem

Graceful concrete,
Sturdy cables,
Massive beams
And lots of bars
Support a useful bridge

The traffic rolls above the boats,
And all is just as planned.

A better and a holy bridge
Connects our souls to God.

Graceful words,
Sturdy works,
Two stout beams
And lots of blood
Became to us a bridge.

Our spirits soar to heaven itself
And all is just as planned.

For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. But how can they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how can they believe without hearing about Him? And how can they hear without a preacher? And how can they preach unless they are sent?
--Romans 10:13-15a, HCSB
