The Shepherd Travels - Christian Poem

As the shepherd travels,
    The flock is on his heart.
Yes, he needs the rest;
    He needs time set apart
Free from daily worries;
    To study and to roam
With his bride and joy,
    But still he thinks of home.
This is as it should be.
    He's been set apart
For their daily keeping.
    The flock is on his heart.

Not to mention other things, there is the daily pressure on me: my care for all the churches. Who is weak, and I am not weak? Who is made to stumble, and I do not burn with indignation?
--2 Corinthians 11:28-29, HCSB
