False Teachers Judged - Christian Poem

Teachers who tickle the ears
Packaging lies in the husk of the truth:
Glory to man...to their hearers
And most of all to their elegant selves...

Jesus will come and destroy
All of that heart-wicked, self-loving crowd:
Glory to God! Praise and joy
All to the One, the All-Holy, the Lord.

A time will come when people will not listen to accurate teachings. Instead, they will follow their own desires and surround themselves with teachers who tell them what they want to hear. People will refuse to listen to the truth and turn to myths.

What you said is true. People want to hear what sounds good.

Thanks for your comment today on Picture My Thoughts. Are you and your family okay after the hurricane? Let me know.

Thanks, David and Myra, for the comments. David, I'd read some of your blog if I spoke Portuguese, but I don't. May the Lord use you and others for speaking his truth to those who speak Portuguese.

Yes, Myra, we're fine after the hurricane. Thanks for asking. Our biggest damage was a downed fence. Today (Monday the 21st) we got power back. We'd been on a generator for 8 days...lots of finding gasoline, lots of cords, lots of noise, and only partial power for only part of the day. But others had it much, much worse. We're thankful to the Lord that the weather last week was uncommonly cool and dry for Houston.
