Just a Weed

From Blog09

It's just a weed:
Wily, wild, determined,
Growing unwanted--
Except by bees
Brought by its beauty.
Lord, creator of bees, of weeds, of me,
All your works are wonderful.
If the world devalues me,
Help me see
It's fine to be
Just a weed
For passing bees.

All your works shall give thanks to you, O LORD,
and all your saints shall bless you!
--Psalm 145:10, ESV

In the Bible, weeds are used as a picture of those who follow the devil. Yet sometimes one man's weed is another man's precious flower. Those of us who follow Jesus are weeds in the world's eyes, but precious in the Lord's sight.

made me think ...
the weed is something that grew which was not planted by YOU
something that grew, which is of no use to YOU
something that hinders the other seeds purposefully planted by YOU

Rooted in Christ
Born by an incorruptible seed
1Pet.1:23, 1John 3:9
It is interesting to do a search of 'seed' in the New Testament.

From the Strongs concordance
σπέρμα/sperma/sper'-mah
From G4687; somethng sown, that is, seed (including the male “sperm”); by implication offspring; specifically a remnant (figuratively as if kept over for planting): - issue, seed.

And so we are born again of incorruptible seed.
