Transcendence and Immanence

From Blog09

Fully holy, fully pure,
Greater far than we can see,
Owning all eternity,
He is Lord, forever Lord,
Matchless in his majesty.

Yet he deigns to come to us
Showing us our depth of sin
Matched by grace in human skin:
Jesus--Lord, our saving Lord,
Sacrificed--we're pure within!

From Isaiah 6--
In the year of King Uzziah's death I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, lofty and exalted, with the train of His robe filling the temple.

Isaiah saw his own uncleanness and was terrified. Then a seraph came with a coal from the altar.

He touched my mouth with it and said, "Behold, this has touched your lips; and your iniquity is taken away and your sin is forgiven."
