From Blog10

In widest spaces
Plainest plains
Where wheat grew gold
And oil brought wealth
Was I, a boy
As scrawny as the trees

The shrunken mountains
Hung like taxidermy
In paintings flat as fields
While beaches were in books

In the center of Kansas
In the center of the great plains
In the center of the country
Was the center of my world

It was beautifully flat
And usually dry
And wonderfully home

God settles the solitary in a home...
--Psalm 68:6 ESV
