Day of Darkness, Day of Light

From Blog11

Hopes were dashed.
Dreams were smashed.
Death had won,
Killed the sun.

It was night,
But would light
Bring a dawn,
Fresh joy spawn?

Morning came
Dark the same.
Gloom ahead,
Christ still dead.

The third day--
Quake and sway
Angel knows
Jesus rose.

Space and room
At the tomb:
Body gone
On that dawn.

He is not here, but has risen.
--Luke 24:6a

I can only imagine the sorrow the disciples felt on the sabbath after Jesus crucifixion, but oh the joy on Sunday.

dfish, yes! Yet we have the fuller joy of the Lord's presence through his Holy Spirit, and will one day see him face-to-face.

Elaine, it may be simultaneously the most terrifying and the most wonderful thing any of us have ever seen.
