Trendy Christianity

Trying to be trendy while looking down at those who aren't, is sin.
Bending toward the culture of others as an act of love is a virtue--whether their culture is trendy or Amish.

Romans 14:21-22 addresses this comment. "It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak. Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth.

dfish, thanks for the scripture quote. I think the main point of the passage you quote is that we should not do something that will cause our brother to violate his conscience. That's certainly true. I was thinking more of the selfishness that can cause us to look down on those whose culture is different from our own.
