Flint Corn

From Blog11

An almost-Mondrian
Mosaic of colored corn
Tells of autumn abundance,
Of feasting after famine
At Plimoth Plantation.

The husks are swept back
Like grateful tears,
And at every movement
Whisper our thanks.

Rejoice in the Lord, O you righteous,
and give thanks to his holy name!
--Psalm 97:12

Note: The swept-back husks also, less profoundly, reminded me of this.

"In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." (I Thessalonians 5:18)

Nice poem.
