From Blog12
Caterpillar, you're a part
Of the Lord's eternal plan.
Dark and lowly at the start,
You'll get wings--and flowers scan.

If the Lord can take and use
Even little things like you,
Giving beauty--brigtest hues--
Then I know he'll use me, too.

I made the earth
and created man on it;

it was my hands that stretched out the heavens,
and I commanded all their host.
(Isaiah 45:12, ESV)

This is something I always hope for - that the Lord can use me for something good despite my weaknesses and sin.

Great poem with a good lesson!

The Poetic Homemaker, welcome. The Lord's very, very good at using those who know that they don't deserve to be used. I've found that it's hard to over-estimate how evil I can be apart from Christ, and it's hard to over-estimate how good he can be and is in me and through me. That's no excuse for me to tolerate evil in myself, but it's an encouragement when I'm distressed by seeing yet more of my sin.

Amen, Jim. He has promised to use anyone who will make themselves available to him.
