You Have Set Your Love Upon Us

From Blog13

You have set your love upon us
And called us by your grace.
You've redeemed and sanctified us
That we may see your face.

We're released from condemnation.
Christ's blood has set us free.
So we live in expectation
Of mercies yet to be.

This is nothing we have purchased.
We haven't earned one thing
Of all the ways you've blessed us,
Of all the grace you bring.

Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood,
much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God.
(Romans 5:9 ESV)

If people only understood how much he loves us. Instead of resenting his requests, they'd surrender to his will.

Just enjoying a hymn with the words,
"How He (the Father) set His love upon Thee (the Lord Jesus),
Called Thee His beloved Son!
Yet for us, He did not spare Thee,
By Thy death our life was won."
Amen! Thank you for this poem!

Jim, I was hiking a trail in a state park the other day and ran across an old church building. It had stone floors and walls. The acoustics was so incredible that I began to sing, "I love you Lord and I lift my voice to worship You..." and did so for 30 minutes and meant every word I said.

Donald Fishgrab, yes, people have been blinded by Satan, the god of this world.
Miri, I had never heard that hymn. I found it online here. You may sing the same tune or a different one.
alight, thank you for the testimony. Such timeless moments are a wonderful gift from our Lord. Blessings to you, brother.
