The Sluggard

The sluggard “does not commit himself to a refusal, but deceives himself by the smallness of his surrenders. So, by inches and minutes, his opportunity slips away.”
--Derek Kidner, as quoted in Bible study material from Capitol Hill Baptist Church of Washington, DC.

     Lazy? Me? Not at all.
Wait a bit, and you'll see.

Yes, I'll work like a bee.
     I'll get busy this fall.

     Lazy? Me? Lying thing!
Just you wait, and you'll see.
I will work like a bee.
     I'll get busy next spring.

The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing,
while the soul of the diligent is richly supplied.
                                 (Proverbs 13:14 ESV)
