To Follow Jesus

To follow Jesus is an outward thing.
He owns my clothes, my hair, the things you see.

To follow Jesus is an inward thing.
He bought my heart and set my spirit free.

To follow Jesus is a whole-life thing.
He owns what's past, what's now, what's yet to be.

To follow Jesus is a simple thing.
He leads. I follow. Victory!

On the next day Jesus wanted to set out for Galilee. He found Philip and said to him, “Follow me.”  (John 1:43, NET)

Ahhh, yes...such a simply thing. Reminds me of the words to a hymn of another great poet..."'Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus, just to take Him at His word..."
I think we would be spared much of the agony of our spiritual journey if we took it to be uncomplicated as it is: He leads, I follow. Victory!
Thank you for this.

Joshua Fisher, Thanks. It's good to hear from you. Yes, it's completely simple and incredibly difficult at times.
