The forest is electric now,
With trunks of steel
That never feel
The soft imprint of children's climb.
The children are electric, too,
With thumbs that brush
But never touch
The pages in electric books.
But grandpa still is real today,
With tales retold
And arms to hold
The child who dares to touch, to feel.
Then [Jesus] took a little child and set him in the midst of them. And when He had taken him in His arms, He said to them, "Whoever receives one of these little children in My name receives Me; and whoever receives Me, receives not Me but Him who sent Me." (Mark 9:36-37 NKJV)
